100 Things
A couple of times a year the SD Reader does a cover story in which various writers contribute. I have always wanted to be invited to take part in one of them.
A few months ago I received an e-mail from my editor asking me to come up with 10 unique things to do in San Diego for an upcoming feature story that other writers would also be contributing to. I wad giddy to be included.
It came out last week. There are 17 capsules written by yours truly. I had so much fun on this assignment. My friend Elizabeth, who is also a Reader writer and I went on lots of adventures while working on the article. My favorite was driving a dune buggy. We also took an art class in a Balboa Park museum. We sketched a sculpture. I went on a behind the scenes tour at Lions, Tigers, and Bears, jammed out to some excellent bluegrass, and made my own terrarium. I hope this becomes a yearly assignment!
